Karakterre Podcast with: André Mack
“Wine is not a beverage reserved for the elite, but can and should be enjoyed by everyone. A wine’s place is on the table right next to the salt and pepper, as a compliment–even a condiment to the food. It is not meant only to be collected, but to enhance your meal and your way of life.”
André Mack is on a mission: to make wine more accessible for everyone.
Mack left his banking job and never looked back. He’s had a successful career as a sommelier, most notably with chef-restaurateur Thomas Keller at two of his most renowned venues: The French Laundry and Per Se. In 2007, Mack began making his own wines under the label Mouton Noir. He later started sharing his knowledge as an educator and expressing his love for food as a restaurateur.
In May 2024, on the occasion of Karakterre 13, our Aleks Zecevic spoke with André about his passion for spreading the message of wine and making it an everyday option for everyone.
